Through our Respond & Recharge Program, Silco provides complimentary recharge service for serviceable, rechargeable ABC and CO₂ fire extinguishers used by first responders in the line of duty.
It’s a simple way for us to support the fire departments, law enforcement agencies and other first responders who help protect the communities we serve every day.

What fire extinguishers qualify for Respond & Recharge?
Respond & Recharge provides complimentary recharge service for serviceable, rechargeable ABC and CO₂ fire extinguishers used by first responders in the line of duty.
When does an extinguisher qualify?
The extinguisher must have been used by a first responder in the line of duty during an emergency response.
Are all types of fire extinguishers covered?
No. Complimentary recharge service through Respond & Recharge is limited to qualifying ABC and CO₂ fire extinguishers. Other extinguisher types and fire suppression systems are not included in the program.
What if my extinguisher cannot be recharged?
Our team will inspect the extinguisher to determine whether it can be safely serviced and returned to use. If the extinguisher cannot be recharged, a Silco team member can discuss available options with your department.
Is there a limit to how many extinguishers can be serviced?
If multiple extinguishers were discharged during the same incident, submit the quantity through our Respond & Recharge form or contact your local Silco team so we can determine the best way to assist your department.
Do I need to submit the online form?
No. The form may be the easiest way to submit a Respond & Recharge request, but you can also call your local Silco team or bring your qualifying extinguisher to a Silco location.
Can Silco pick up the extinguishers from our department?
Yes. If bringing your extinguishers to a Silco location isn’t convenient, contact our team to discuss pickup options. We can come to your department to collect qualifying extinguishers for service, though a trip charge may apply depending on your location and service needs. The recharge itself remains complimentary for qualifying ABC and CO₂ extinguishers used in the line of duty.
