SMS Text Messaging Policy
Welcome. Silco Fire & Security (“Silco,” “we,” or “us”) offers a text messaging program (the “Program”) through which we send service-related text messages (“SMS Messages”) to customers who provide a mobile number in connection with our services (“Subscribers”). This statement governs our policies with respect to the Program and the SMS Messages we send to Subscribers.
What is the SMS Text Messaging Program?
The Program is a service through which Silco sends SMS Messages to Subscribers about service they have scheduled or requested. These messages include appointment confirmations, appointment reminders, and notifications that a technician is on the way. The SMS Messages are informational and relate to service requested by the Subscriber. The Program does not send marketing or promotional messages.
How does a Subscriber enroll in the Program?
When a Subscriber provides a mobile number while scheduling or requesting service, the Subscriber consents to receive SMS Messages from Silco at that number. Consent is limited to the service-related messages described in this statement.
How often are SMS Messages sent?
The frequency of SMS Messages varies and depends on the Subscriber’s service activity.
Are there costs associated with SMS Messages?
Message and data rates may apply, depending on the Subscriber’s mobile plan. Subscribers should contact their wireless carrier for details regarding applicable charges.
How can a Subscriber stop receiving SMS Messages?
A Subscriber may stop receiving SMS Messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. After a Subscriber replies STOP, Silco will send one confirmation message and will discontinue further SMS Messages through the Program. A Subscriber who opts out may not receive appointment confirmations, reminders, or technician arrival notifications, and Silco may communicate with the Subscriber regarding service by other means.
How can a Subscriber obtain help?
A Subscriber may reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us at customerservice@silcofs.com.
With whom is SMS information shared?
We do not sell or share mobile opt-in information or phone numbers with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. We may share this information with service providers that assist us in operating the Program, and only for that purpose.
How is SMS information stored and secured?
Information collected through the Program is securely stored and is accessible only as necessary to operate the Program and as described in our Privacy Policy.
How does this statement relate to our Privacy Policy?
This statement supplements our Privacy Policy, available at https://silcofs.com/privacy-policy/, which governs our general collection, use, and protection of personal information. With respect to SMS Messages, this statement controls in the event of any conflict.
Are wireless carriers responsible for SMS Messages?
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered SMS Messages.
